You researched, you wrote, you edited—now it's time to gain the recognition you deserve!

Michael Crichton (award-winning author of such classics as Sphere, The Terminal Man, Jurassic Park, and Five Patients) and Dr Timothy Johnson (medical editor for ABC News, founding editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter, and coauthor of Let's Talk) are just 2 of the numerous authors who have received the prestigious AMWA Medical Book Award. The book awards were established more than 30 years ago by the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) to recognize the best in fictional and non-fictional medical writing.

AMWA invites entries for the 2013 AMWA Medical Book Awards Competition. Authors do not need to be members of the association. Awards will be presented to the author(s) of the best English-language medical book published in 2012 in each of the 3 categories:
 

Books for health care professionals—physicians
Books for health care professionals—nonphysician
Books for public or heath care consumers

Conditions for submission:

• Two copies of each book are requested. (Books will not be returned.)
• An Entry fee of $50 is required for each title submitted. You may submit more than1 title in each category, however, the same title may not be entered in more than 1 category.
• Only first editions (or significantly revised subsequent editions) released in 2012 are eligible.
• Deadline for receipt of entries (books, entry form, and entry fee for each)is March 1, 2013.
