AMWA’S 68TH
ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Workshops
One of AMWA’s
greatest benefits is its educational program for members in all areas of
the profession. The 2008 conference in Louisville offers a record-breaking
slate of 97 workshops, including 63 general, specialty, or science
workshops, 19 advanced workshops, and 15 noncredit workshops, many of
which are new workshops. For a complete listing of this year’s workshops
please visit the conference page on AMWA’s
Web site.
Breakfast Roundtables
At the 2008 Annual Conference, you can
choose from 72
roundtable discussions! Join your colleagues at these informal
breakfast sessions to exchange ideas, experiences, and insights about
topics affecting your professional life. The hour may be early, but the
coffee will be hot, the food delicious, and the conversation engaging.
Table agendas will be posted on AMWA’s
Web site as they are available.
Tours
AMWA has lined up several
exciting and unique tours designed to showcase the rich heritage and
tradition of Louisville and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The deadline for
reserving your space with the tour company is September 24. We highly
recommend that you make your reservations in advance. The tour company
requires that a minimum number of tickets be sold for a tour to be run.
Please order your tickets early so that the tour company will know that
there is sufficient interest to run the tour. A complete description of
each tour and a tour
registration form are available on AMWA’s
Web site (www.amwa.org).
AMWA’s Green Conference
As AMWA
continues in its effort to be more environmentally friendly, plans are
under way to “green up” the annual conference. Earth conscious efforts
will include paper and badge recycling programs, a print-on-demand
station for open session handouts, and more. This year’s conference may
be taking place in the Bluegrass Region, but it will be as “green” as
possible!
