The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) offers one of the most valuable continuing education programs available to professionals in the medical and allied scientific communication fields. AMWA's workshops and certificate programs are the cornerstone of the association's commitment to providing quality continuing education for medical communicators.
AMWA tracks curriculum history for anyone participating in an AMWA workshop or completing an AMWA self-study module. You can view AMWA certificates in which you are enrolled, AMWA certificates earned, workshops or self-study modules you have completed, and certificate credits earned. Log into the website to view your curriculum history.
AMWA workshops are small-group, intensive, face-to-face educational experiences tailored for novice or experienced medical communicators. The diversity of the workshops offers participants an opportunity to gain skills in new areas of expertise that can enhance their contributions to many different areas of medical communication.
Both members and nonmembers can take workshops, whether or not they are enrolled in a certificate program. However, in order to earn credit towards an AMWA certificate, you must be enrolled. Workshops are offered at AMWA’s annual conference, at chapter conferences, via self-study modules, and by arrangement with companies or other organizations.
Many workshops are offered at the annual conference or chapter conferences each year. The cost of attending a workshop is in addition to any conference registration fee. The fee is the same whether or not the workshop is being taken for credit.
