The publish-or-perish mandate has spread around the world, making it highly likely that medical editors will edit for authors who are non-native English speakers. This is rewarding but intense work requiring special preparation. First, there are writing and cultural issues to watch for. Second, it is important to build solid working relationships with these authors so that they will keep returning with projects. In this session, a veteran medical editor who specializes in working with such authors shares editing tips and relationship-building secrets.

At the conclusion of this webinar, attendees will be able to

  •  Identify writing issues common to non-native English speakers
  • Describe how cultural issues can affect how non-native English speakers write
  • Describe how to find more authors to work with who are non-native English speakers
  • Analyze methods for building good working relationships with authors who are non-native English speakers

Learning Level: Intermediate
