Sitting for the Medical Writing Certification Examination shows a professional commitment, and knowledge of medical writing. To qualify for the exam, you must 
meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience or the equivalent (eg, 4 years of documented part-time work at 20 hours/week) within the past 5 years. Experience must be in a paid capacity in the field of medical writing.
Exceptions to the requirement for a bachelor's degree may be granted for individuals with at least 5 full-time years (or equivalent) of verifiable work experience in the field. Experience must have been in a paid capacity within the past 10 years.
