About the Exam
The 125-question, multiple-choice exam is completed with paper and pencil, in English, over a 2.5-hour period. The Examination Content Outline provides a detailed explanation of the 5 domains (Gathering, Evaluating, Organizing, Interpreting, and Presenting). All exam questions relate directly to the knowledge, skills, and abilities linked to these 5 domains
The Medical Writing Certification Commission (MWCC) conducted a ground-breaking job analysis that defined the core knowledge, skills, and abilities of medical writers across a variety of work environments.
Submit the Special Accommodations Request Form if you have a disability that is covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 that would affect your ability to take the examination. The form and documentation letter must be received at least 4 weeks before the exam date.
