New Blog Post: Building a Health-Literate Society

Health literacy, or the degree to which individuals can obtain, process, and understand basic health information needed to make appropriate health decisions, is important for improving people’s long-term health and quality of life. However, most US adults are less than proficient in health literacy, with certain groups, such as the elderly and less educated, at higher risk.

The latest AMWA blog post, "Building a Health-Literate Society," describes four strategies medical communicators can use to lead the way in improving the way we communicate health information.
