Congratulations AMWA 2020 Fellows

Fellows are recognized for their significant contributions to AMWA and to the profession at large. We are pleased to announce that Katrina R. Burton, BS, Jennifer Minarcik, MS, and Qing Zhou, PhD, ELS, CMPP have been honored by the AMWA Board with the distinguished AMWA Fellowship designation. Katrina R. Burton, BS, is a program manager in the Public Relations office at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. A member since 2010, Katrina has more than 17 years of experience in health care marketing, communications, and public relations. In her 10 years of volunteering for AMWA, Katrina has presented at conferences, led webinars and roundtables, and served in many positions for the Southwest Chapter. At the national level, she served as the inaugural Chair of the Chapter Advisory Council and currently serves as AMWA Secretary and Chair of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
Jennifer Minarcik, MS, is a biomedical communicator, artist, and social media enthusiast. After years of scientific research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Jennifer began her freelance career in 2011. She specializes in writing about cutting-edge technologies and developing sales training and promotional materials. An AMWA member since 2011, Jen has been highly engaged in the Delaware Valley Chapter as president, treasurer, webinar chair, Freelance Workshop co-chair, and LinkedIn group moderator. She currently serves as a Chapter Advisory Council Representative and Social Media Section Editor of the AMWA Journal.
Qing Zhou, PhD, ELS, CMPP is a medical writer and publication manager with 14 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. After obtaining a bachelors degree in Biochemistry in China and a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology from Purdue University, Qing decided to pursue medical writing as a career. She is an expert in publication planning for company-sponsored clinical studies and has co-authored 15 peer-reviewed papers. As an active member and volunteer of AMWA since 2006, Qing currently serves as the President of the AMWA Empire State Metro New York Chapter and is the Practical Matters Section Editor of the AMWA Journal.
