Student Membership

Qualifications and Limitations

Student membership is designed for undergraduate or graduate students (9+ credits or full-time as defined by your institution) or for those in an accredited post-doctoral or resident program.

Student members enjoy the same member benefits as professional members. However, student members

  • may not hold office at the national level
  • do not have voting rights within the association
  • do not receive a print copy of the AMWA Journal
  • may not purchase a Freelance Package

In order to qualify for the student membership category, you will be required to upload proof of your student enrollment during the join process. Anything that demonstrates your status as a student, postdoc, or resident can serve as proof. Examples include a current class schedule, unofficial transcript, registrar's receipt, acceptance or offer letter, or recent work sample.
