Qualifications and Limitations

Student membership is designed for current undergraduate or graduate students (9+ credits or full-time as defined by your institution) or for those in an accredited post-doctoral or resident program.

Student members enjoy the same member benefits as professional members. However, student members

• may not hold office at the national level
• do not have voting rights within the association
  
• may not purchase a Freelance Package 

In order to qualify for the student membership category, you will be required to upload proof of your current student enrollment during the join process. Anything that includes your name and demonstrates your full-time status as a student, postdoc, or resident can serve as proof. Examples include a current class schedule, unofficial transcript, registrar's receipt (a student ID on its own is not acceptable).

Join now as a student member. If you are joining from an existing non-member account, please send your full-time student proof to membership@amwa.org for review. Staff will then update your profile.
